Fletcher Commits To Holy Cross

Kanata veteran Kyle Fletcher has accepted a full hockey scholarship to attend Division I Holy Cross University in the fall of 2009.

A four year CJHLer, Fletcher is the fifth 2008-09 CJHL player to accept an NCAA Division 1 offer.  He joins Mitch Zion (Ottawa-Clarkson), Jacob Laliberte (Hawkesbury-RPI), Zachary Hervato (Smiths Falls-Robert Morris) and  Ben Sexton (Nepean-Clarkson)

Watch for several more commitments as there are offers out to a number of players still making their decision on where to attend school and continue their hockey careers.

MCLEOD TO BEMIDJI STATE; THREE MORE CJHLERS TO NCAA DIVISION 1

Veteran forward Aaron McLeod of the Ottawa Junior Senators will attend Bemidji State University next season and play Division I hockey in the NCAA.  McLeod and fellow CJHLers Andy Starzewski and Mike Santee, both of the Pembroke Lumber Kings and both headed to Army, make a total of  9 CJHL players moving on to the collegiate ranks.

Earlier, scoring leader Jacob Laliberte (Hawkesbury-RPI), Zachary Hervato (Smiths Falls-Robert Morris), Ben Sexton (Nepean-Clarkson), and Kyle Fletcher (Kanata-Holy Cross) committed to programs.  Ottawa's Mitch Zion committed to Clarkson earlier for 2010.

Cumberland's David Pacan and Smiths Falls' Dustin Darou have several offers they is considering as well as Nepeans'  Jeremy Price and Scott Dawson.  All four will play in the World Junior A Challenge along with Laliberte, Hervato and Sexton.
